Ascent Classical Academy Assessment Calendar 2023-2024

As publicly funded charter schools, Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools are required to offer and administer several assessments, to include the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), and the Pre-SAT (PSAT).

Parents or guardians may opt their children out of these state assessments using this form. This form must be returned in-person to the front office. Students will not be subject to negative consequences based on not taking these assessments, such as prohibiting such students from in-school or extracurricular activities or requiring them to remain at home during testing. Schools will not engage in any activities that discourage a student from taking a state assessment or encourage parents or guardians to excuse students from testing.

Parents are not able to opt their children out of internal school assessments, ACCESS, or READ Act assessments.

Assessment Format: ACACS School Policy AP-13.0 (as listed in the Family Handbook) states that the format for state assessments will be administered using a paper-and-pencil format. This policy will be regularly reviewed by the Principal, in consultation with the Board, and updated  as determined appropriate by the Board.
